SupportConnecting your health data

Fitness Connected Support

Connecting your health data

Fitness Connected works through Apple Health on iOS and Health Connect on Android. It reads the supported health and activity data you allow, then turns that data into your daily view, trends, and connected experiences.

How Fitness Connected gets your health data

Fitness Connected does not pair directly with your watch or wearable. Instead, your wearable or fitness app makes supported data available through a platform health hub, and Fitness Connected reads the data you permit from that hub.

Wearable or fitness app

Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android)

Fitness Connected

Fitness Connected only reads the supported data you allow. It does not write to or change the health data stored in Apple Health or Health Connect.

Apple Health on iPhone

On iPhone, Apple Health is the health-data hub. Fitness Connected asks for permission to read supported metrics through Apple Health.

If you use a wearable, that device or its companion app generally needs to sync its data into Apple Health first.

After setup, you can review or update Apple Health access from Fitness Connected under You → Settings → Data Connections. From there, you can open Apple Health settings when you need to change permissions.

If a metric is missing in Fitness Connected, check that the data is available in Apple Health and that Fitness Connected has permission to read it.

Health Connect on Android

On Android, Health Connect is the health-data hub. Fitness Connected asks for permission to read supported metrics through Health Connect.

You can grant some permissions without granting all of them. Fitness Connected only shows the supported data available through the permissions you allow.

Your wearable or companion app needs to sync supported data into Health Connect before Fitness Connected can read it. Availability can vary by device, source app, and configuration.

After setup, manage Health Connect access from Fitness Connected under You → Settings → Data Connections. Open Health Connect settings to update permissions, then return and refresh.

If a metric is missing in Fitness Connected, check that the data is available in Health Connect and that Fitness Connected has permission to read it.

Permissions and privacy

Health permissions and Fitness Connected sharing controls are separate.

Health permissions

Control what Fitness Connected can read from Apple Health or Health Connect.

Sharing controls

Control how health data is shared inside Fitness Connected, including Profile Visibility, Connections, and Groups.

Allowing Fitness Connected to read supported source data does not by itself decide who can see your health data on your profile or in groups. For Profile Visibility, Connections, Groups, and Compare, see Connections, Groups, and privacy.

Syncing and refreshing

During your first sync, Fitness Connected aims to import up to 30 days of available health and activity data from Apple Health or Health Connect. The first sync can take several minutes if you already have a lot of history in the health hub.

After that, Fitness Connected continues to refresh your latest supported data. Metrics may keep updating through the day as your wearable, companion app, and health hub finish syncing.

On Home, you can pull to refresh or use the Health Sync controls to bring in the latest available data. A wearable generally needs to sync into Apple Health or Health Connect before Fitness Connected can read the newest values.

Fitness Connected health and activity data is informational. It is not medical advice or a diagnostic tool.

Supported data at launch

Launch metrics in Fitness Connected include:

  • Steps
  • Distance
  • Active Minutes
  • Active Calories
  • Resting HR
  • HRV
  • Sleep
  • Activities

Availability can vary by platform and source. Not every wearable or fitness app supplies every metric through Apple Health or Health Connect.

Compatibility

Fitness Connected compatibility depends primarily on whether your wearable or fitness app can make supported data available through:

  • Apple Health on iOS
  • Health Connect on Android

Fitness Connected does not offer direct brand-specific wearable integrations in this version. Exact metric availability depends on what your sources share with the health hub.

Need help?

If data looks missing or out of date:

  1. Confirm your wearable or companion app has synced into Apple Health or Health Connect.
  2. Confirm Fitness Connected has permission to read the relevant data in Data Connections.
  3. Refresh Fitness Connected from Home.
