Troubleshooting

Most data issues can be traced through the same path: wearable or fitness app → Apple Health or Health Connect → Fitness Connected permissions → refresh. Start with that sequence before contacting support.

Start here

Work through this checklist first. Many issues resolve once the upstream source and permissions are in place.

  1. Confirm your wearable or fitness app has synced its latest data.
  2. Confirm that data appears in Apple Health or Health Connect.
  3. Confirm Fitness Connected has permission to read the relevant data under You → Settings → Data Connections.
  4. Refresh Fitness Connected from Home.
  5. Give first sync or recently updated data a little time to finish syncing.

For more detail on Apple Health, Health Connect, permissions, and syncing, see Connecting your health data.

A metric is missing

A missing metric is not always an error. Common reasons include:

  • The wearable or fitness app does not provide that metric.
  • The source has not synced the metric into Apple Health or Health Connect yet.
  • Fitness Connected does not have permission to read that metric.
  • The metric is supported in Fitness Connected, but unavailable from your current platform or source.
  • No value exists yet for the day or time period you are viewing.

Fitness Connected only shows supported data that is available through Apple Health or Health Connect with the permissions you allow. Check the source hub first, then review Data Connections.

My newest data is not showing yet

Fitness Connected does not pair directly with your watch. Newer values generally need to move through this sequence first:

Wearable or fitness app

Apple Health or Health Connect

Fitness Connected

If the upstream sync has not finished, Fitness Connected cannot read the newer values yet. On Home, pull to refresh or use the Health Sync controls to bring in the latest available data.

Metrics may continue updating through the day as your wearable, companion app, and health hub finish syncing. Fitness Connected does not promise real-time updates.

First sync is taking a while

During first sync, Fitness Connected aims to import up to 30 days of available health and activity data from Apple Health or Health Connect. That import can take several minutes if you already have a lot of history in the health hub.

Allow the first sync to finish before moving on. Exact history depends on what is available from your sources, so Fitness Connected does not guarantee a full 30 days for every metric.

After the first sync completes, recent data may continue appearing as upstream sources finish catching up.

My numbers look different

Fitness Connected values can differ from Apple Health, Health Connect, or a wearable app. That does not necessarily mean something is wrong.

Differences can happen because:

  • Source apps may calculate or aggregate metrics differently.
  • Timing and day boundaries may differ across apps.
  • Fitness Connected may summarize data using its own daily or period views.
  • Supported source data can arrive at different times as hubs and devices finish syncing.

Treat Fitness Connected health and activity data as informational. It is not medical advice, and Fitness Connected is not claiming to be more correct than another app.

Permissions look incomplete or changed

Health permissions control what Fitness Connected can read from the platform health hub. They are separate from Profile Visibility, Connections, and Groups. For sharing controls, see Connections, Groups, and privacy.

Apple Health

Manage Apple Health access in iOS settings through Data Connections. Fitness Connected can only read what you permit. Apple Health does not always make detailed permission status easy to inspect inside Fitness Connected, so open Apple Health settings when you need to review or change access.

Health Connect

You can grant some Health Connect permissions without granting all of them. If permissions look incomplete, open Health Connect settings from Data Connections, update access, then return and refresh.

On Android, changing or revoking Health Connect permissions can sometimes cause Fitness Connected to restart as the permission flow resets. After the app reopens, return to Data Connections if you still need to confirm permissions.

I changed watches or source apps

Fitness Connected does not pair directly with a new watch or fitness app. The new wearable or companion app needs to begin writing supported data into Apple Health or Health Connect first.

After that, confirm Fitness Connected still has permission to read the relevant data, then refresh from Home. Historical data depends on what the new source actually writes into the health hub.

Data still looks wrong

If the issue continues:

  1. Verify the metric appears in Apple Health or Health Connect.
  2. Verify Fitness Connected permissions in Data Connections.
  3. Refresh from Home.
  4. Wait a short period if sync is still in progress.
  5. Recheck the Health Data guide.

If you still need help, email fitnessconnected@zungl.com. Include:

  • Platform: iOS or Android
  • Which metric is affected
  • Whether the metric appears in Apple Health or Health Connect
  • Whether the issue affects all days or only recent data
  • Approximate time the issue began
